چکیده

Type I posterior glottic stenosis (PGS) is a rare and challenging entity that defined by the presence of scar band separate from interarytenoid mucosa. This case reports child who developed PGS-I secondary to prolonged intubation submitted an endoscopic approach. 11-year-old boy presented with 4 years complaint stridor triggered physical efforts sleep. He had history mechanical ventilation entubation for thirty day period. On indirect laryngoscopy it was observed complete adduction incomplete abduction vocal folds. underwent diagnostic laryngotracheoscopy, where possible observe confirm diagonis PGS type I. A suspension microlaryngoscopy performed tissue sectioned dilatation this area balloon done. Endotracheal primary cause in children. Different surgical interventions have been described, open techniques. careful preoperative assessment helps achieve better outcomes.

BACKGROUND Posterior glottic stenosis is a complication of prolonged intubation, manifesting as airway stenosis that may mimic bilateral vocal cord paralysis. It presents a variety of features that mandate specific surgical interventions. OBJECTIVES To summarize our experience with PSG and its working diagnosis. METHODS We conducted a retrospective review of a cohort of adult patients with ...

BACKGROUND The Type I Posterior Glottic Stenosis (PGS-I) is a well-described but uncommon clinical entity. Despite this, there is little known about the outcome of surgical treatment. METHODS Retrospective case series. RESULTS Thirteen cases met inclusion criteria. All but one patient had a tracheostomy at the time of initial evaluation. At the postoperative visit, seven patients (54%) had ...
متن کاملPhotodocumentation of the Development of Type I Posterior Glottic Stenosis after Intubation Injury
Bilateral vocal fold immobility may result from bilateral recurrent laryngeal nerve paralysis or physiologic insults to the airway such as glottic scars. The progression of mucosal injury to granulation tissue, and then posterior glottis stenosis, is an accepted theory but has not been photodocumented. This paper presents serial images from common postintubation injury to less common posterior ...

OBJECTIVES/HYPOTHESIS Posterior glottic stenosis may cause more or less severe dyspnea. The popular endoscopic procedures have only a limited role in the treatment. Considering our clinical experiences, endoscopic arytenoid abduction lateropexy (EAAL) after proper mobilization of the fixed joints provides an effective option even in high-grade stenoses. STUDY DESIGN To confirm these clinical ...
متن کاملEndoscopic Management of Severe Supraglottic and Posterior Glottic Stenosis Due to Chemotherapy and Radiation
Combined posterior and supraglottic stenosis (CS) often presents as debilitating dysphonia or dyspnea, secondary to blunt trauma or traumatic intubation. However, CS has proven to be a late complication of chemoradiation therapy. Traditional treatment of combined posterior and supraglottic stenosis (CS) secondary to chemoradiation has been frequently complicated by poor tissue healing. This cas...
